The soft whisper of a transparent drape. A color that ignites the deepest essence of your sensual self. A piece of furniture that embodies the union of feminine and masculine forms. Over our first six steps of sexy room ideas, we explored how form, texture and color can turn our everyday space into the deepest expression of our male and female nature.
Now, it's time to understand how each of those interior decorating ideas combines to pull your sexy bedroom design ideas and sexy living room decorating ideas together. To illustrate the process, we'll refer to a concept board designed for our Room Design Online™ Virtual Room Planner™ Portfolio. We used our Studio L Signature style with the Cool Drama color palette to create this concept board.

So what is the secret to simultaneous sexiness? Simple. Just juxtapose.
As we learned in Sexy Room Step One, with your larger pieces, you need to pay attention to what's next to what. In the same way that opposites often attract in romance, opposite surfaces and shapes can combine to create sexy interior design. Note the feminine curvilinear juxtaposed to the masculine linear in the cocktail table. We played it against the very linear sofa next to the round, feminine side table that echoes the c-curve (in its leg) of the scroll work in the cocktail table. One begets the next. The oval ottoman (feminine) works against both the linear (masculine) sofa and the linear cocktail table top. The vignette with the purple velvet chair and the vignette with the so very sexy black patent leather chair echo the same principal.
We've honored Sexy Room Step Two with three LBLs (Little Black Lacquer, a.k.a. the Little Black Dress of your room): the sexy cocktail table, the flirty side table and that minx of a mirror.
Sexy Room Step Three finds itself in sheer drapery fabric. An added bonus (by design) is that it mimics the C-curve and S-curve motif found in our classy lacquer cocktail table and our wall covering, which will be used on a single wall opposite a wall of floor-to-ceiling windows. Once again we've juxtaposed the masculine linear against the feminine curvilinear with our curvy drapery fabric motif against our square windows.
Our swanky black patent leather chair dutifully follows Sexy Room Step Four. Repeat after me: Patent leather is sexy.
Sexy Room Step Five comes alive in our fabric choices. How do you think that purple velvet chair ranks on the squirmy scale? You can slide your tush (repeatedly) against that any old day. Ditto on the silk and ultra suede fabric we've included in the swatches and the upholstery selected for the sofa, ottoman and pillows. Mmmm... tactilely.
Sexy Room Step Six is all about discovering your personal sexy color palette. The inspiration for this room came from the picture above of the winter tree against a violet and blue sky. To bring this to life, we've selected a cool, analogous color palette of mid-tone tints that play against a sexy black and white back drop. As we previously discussed, you can get a lot of sexy mileage out of mid-tone tints.
Creating simultaneous sexiness in Sexy Room Step Seven brings juxtaposition of surfaces to the forefront. For example, if the surface of an item is slick and shiny, put it next to a matte surface, such as a lacquer table next to an ultra suede sofa.
That's it. Seven steps to set you on your way to sexy interior design. So go ahead. Light those candles.
